This is an introductory D&D campaign for youth 13-17 years old.

Dungeon Master: Mack Dechaine

Cost: $5

Welcome to Dungeons & Dragons! You will be taking on the role of an adventuring hero in a fantasy world. We will begin in a small frontier village, completing quests here and there and eventually building up the surrounding area into a small kingdom. As your characters progress the realm, they will also learn new spells, powers, and uncover potent magical items.

No prior experience necessary as this is intended to be an introduction to the game, but if you have played before that is totally fine! I will have some pre-created characters to choose from, but if you want to make your own you certainly can. Just make sure that you are ready before the session. Be sure to follow these guidelines.

  • Considerations - Rules and Expectations upfront, straightforward and simple.
  • Teach basic safety tool: The X Card or X Signal

When a situation arises that bothers you or makes you feel uncomfortable either hold up this card with an X on it so that I can see it and know to change things up, or else make an X signal with your hands. Do it obviously so I can see it, but you can keep it hidden from your other players if you want. I doubt this will come up, but it might happen should another player overstep their boundaries. It is there for a “just in case” scenario.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Follow the DM’s lead and refrain from arguing with the DM or other players over rules or decisions made.
  • Let other players speak, and allow other players to get attention from the DM.
  • Ask other players questions and get to know them as well as their characters.
  • Avoid excessive conversation that is not relevant to the adventure.
  • Make the DM or the store staff aware of behaviour or situations that bother you

About the Instructor:

My name is Mack Dechaine, I am a teacher, and amateur TTRPG designer and writer. I started with 5th edition D&D in 2015 and haven’t looked back. I also really enjoy Blades in the Dark and Pathfinder on the side. My philosophy with games is that everyone at the table should be enjoying themselves, but not at anyone else’s expense.

Masks are strongly encouraged for the duration of all workshops.
