Comic Arts: Environments and Backgrounds is an INTRODUCTORY workshop for kids ages 8-12 years old. 

Instructor: Serena Tang and Tayson Martindale

In this workshop we will be talking about the things going on behind (or sometimes in front) of your characters - the background. Love them or hate them, they can really help you set the scene in your comic. We will show you how to put in a background, and some tips and tricks to fill your comic panels with the elements of an environment without having to draw them in every panel (because that can be a lot of work!) We will also cover some basic information about perspective in drawing.

Please bring sketchbook and pens or pencils of your choice. The instructor will provide scrap paper, pencils, basic colouring tools.

Pre-registration is required. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event. Space is limited, register early!

Workshop policies: 

• Pre-registration is required, space is limited! Register early!
• You will receive an email from us with an invoice and payment instructions.
• Registration is not confirmed until payment is received.
• If we do not receive payment 24 hours prior to the workshop taking place your spot will be forfeit. 
• If you must cancel your workshop we require at least 24 hours notice and will apply your payment as a credit on your account to be used in-store or for your next workshop. 
• Credits will not be issued if the cancellation takes place within 24 hours of the workshop taking place.
