On September 18th, we're celebrating our opening with a big ol' all-ages party featuring live music from Arlo Maverick and entertainment by Jugglin' Jordan!
Plus, we'll have artists Serena Tang and Tayson Martindale drawing up a storm and raising money for the Edmonton Food Bank! Get a commission and meet the pros that will be teaching our art workshops!
Serena Tang is an illustrator who was born in Hong Kong and now lives in Edmonton. She has a Bachelor of Arts from U of A and has taken classes at Edmonton Digital Arts School. She focuses on visual arts through illustration and painting. You may have seen her colorful, sparkly art already on the 2021 Fringe Festival website banner and other promo materials!
Check out her social media, website, and shop below:
Tayson Martindale is a comic book creator based in Edmonton, AB.
"...you don’t have to be the greatest artist of all time to start making great comics, you can literally tell a compelling, engaging story just with stick people and a bit of knowledge on how comics work. I’ve taken some classes to learn more about specifics (colouring techniques, storytelling, etc) but the bones of how I learned to create was from reading comics and then making my own."
His works include: Work: Box Boy (graphic novel), Parker Purr: Cat Adventurer, Bedtime Tails, The Legendary: Winter, Active Animals The Game, Thunder Frog (artist), Kids (comic strip)
See his social media profiles below:
There'll be a capacity limit on the store, which gives you some time to read a FREE COMIC if you end up waiting in line while taking in the music and entertainment.
Our Grand Opening will prove you can have fun AND be safe and covid-aware at the same time!
