Instructor: Brent Janz

In this introductory level course for participants aged 14+, participants will learn the basics of finding materials for and making simple terrain pieces for their tabletop games.

We’ll discuss where to find materials cheaply, what materials work best together, and what simple tools you should get first, to start your terrain building. We’ll also cover some simple painting techniques as we build some terrain pieces with materials provided. This course is designed for the absolute beginner, perfect for anyone who has wanted to build tabletop terrain but didn’t know where to start.

All required tools and supplies will be provided and students will take home leftover materials to hopefully continue building.

Preregistration is required. We will email to confirm your registration and collect payment.

Brent Jans has played tabletop games for a little over forty years and loved every moment of it. He loves discussing roleplaying games and their history, and you can find him talking about TTRPGs in general on his own website, renaissancegamer.ca, and over at the gaming review site therathole.ca. Brent has also been a freelance editor of TTRPGs for over fifteen years. Currently he is hard at work on the upcoming Court of Blades for The Two Drakes, as well as Heroic Chord for local game designer Peach Garden Games.
