The Terry Mah Workspace

Terry Mah was a good friend to RT co-owner Jay Bardyla. They worked together and Terry even designed the original logo for Happy Harbor Comics in 1999.

Terry’s passion for comics, art and pop culture were a part of his daily life. Although his daughters were young when he passed, his passions are deeply ingrained in them.

His eldest daughter, Emma, suggested that the family support the development of the workspace at RT HQ to help spark a similar passion in others.

Brandi, Emma and Kara are keeping Terry’s memory alive by dedicating this creative space to him, and we couldn’t be more honoured.

Frequently-Asked Questions

We offer workshops that will give you the tools you need to be the author of your own adventure or idea.

Working with local experts we are developing unique and engaging learning opportunities to advance your tabletop games and lead you through comic book creation. Workshops will be available for youth and adults in our dedicated space equipped with a smartboard, sink, and comfortable seating.

Here's the rundown:

Who are they for?

Everyone! Workshops will be tailored for youth and adults. See the event descriptions for details or filter the calendar by category.

How often do they take place?

Our goal is to provide as much to the community as you want! Frequency will be determined by your enthusiasm! Workshops take place on Wednesday - Friday evenings and on weekends.

How many people can attend a workshop?

Space is limited so you will want to be in the know (stay tuned to our newsletter for first access to registration)! Classes are a maximum of 9 people, depending on the topic or activity.

How much do workshops cost?

All of our instructors are paid for their prep and teaching time so there is a nominal registration fee to supplement the instructor fees. The topic, supplies (if any), duration, and preparation time determine the registration fee with some workshops only costing $5!

As a thank you for supporting our workshops and instructors, we give you an in-store discount the day you attend your workshop!

How do I register?

Pick the workshop you're interested in from the Event Calendar or listing, and it will link to our online shop! We will follow up via email to confirm your registration and collect payment.

Who are the instructors?

With our Bat-Signal we call in local experts to show you the ropes, be it comic book arts, Dungeons & Dragons, board games, manga, or other tabletop roleplaying games. We have a wide variety of topics thanks to these local pros!

How long are the workshops?

Most workshops are 60-90 minutes each.
