As part of the Art for Heart fundraiser organized by David Tuff in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation we had a blast watching four of Edmonton's best tattoo artists and four of Edmonton's best comic illustrators battling it out at RT HQ drawing head-to-head based on suggestions from the audience!
Artists from each discipline would be given a theme and audience members would shout-out characters from that theme for the artists to incorporate into their work. Then the timer would be set and they would have 20-30 minutes to complete an on-the-spot original art piece!
Once the timer is up the art piece was auctioned off to the highest bidder, all the proceeds going to the Stollery.
Each round the intensity increased as we went from 1v1 all the way to 4v4 artists collaborating for artistic supremacy!

Between battles we had live music from Mikey of Systems to Chaos and Bikini Atoll Beach Party. He played us songs directly inspired by the Art Battle Event: he wrote brand new songs the day before the event to unveil just as the artists were creating their improvised works! Signer/songwriter DJ also played a set of acoustic jams for the crowd and filled the shop with good vibes.
